Florida stone crab

27 restaurants, fish houses and markets across Florida that serve stone crab claws in season, each checked in fall 2026 against a 2025–26 source. Florida's stone crab season, set by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), runs from October 15 to May 1. Out of season most of these places stay open without the claws; a few close for part of it (Joe's Stone Crab takes a late-summer break), so check each place's season note.

A claw, not a crab

Florida stone crab is sold as claws: harvesters take the claws and return the crab to the water, where it can grow them back. They're served chilled and cracked, usually with a mustard sauce. The commercial and recreational season set by the FWC runs from October 15 to May 1, so outside the season a stone crab place serves other things, and a few close for part of it: each place's note says when. 27 places on this list note a season; seasonal is not closed.

The list at a glance

Towns with the most: Everglades City (3), Miami (3), Hollywood (2), St. Petersburg (2), Naples (2), Key Largo (2), Miami Beach (1), Safety Harbor (1).

Our method: a place made the list only if a 2025 or 2026 source backed it up (its own site or menu, a dated local news story or an official tourism listing) and its street address matched. No current source, or a website gone dark, and it stayed off. Review sites played no part, and places run by region and town rather than by anybody's score. Menus change, so call ahead.

On your phone, Florida Eats orders this list by how far each place is from you, and a tap opens Apple Maps' live card with hours, photos and directions.
