Terms of use
The plain-language terms for the Hawaiʻi Eats app and this website. Last updated October 21, 2026.
What the app is
Hawaiʻi Eats is a free guide to restaurants in Hawaii, made by Nicholas Soderstrom. It is provided as is, for personal use, without charge and without warranties of any kind.
Check before you go
Restaurants open, close, change their hours and change their menus, and many small counters close when the food runs out. Dishes, seasons and founding years are what each place or a named source said when we checked in October 2026. We work to keep the lists right, but we can't promise that any listing is current or complete. Call the restaurant before you make the trip.
Health inspections
Hawaiʻi Eats shows no inspection results and gives no grade. The Hawaii State Department of Health inspects restaurants and posts placards but publishes no results in bulk. Links to DOH go to its own site, which is responsible for what it shows; see how to look up a Hawaii restaurant inspection.
Other people's content
Ratings, reviews, hours and photos in each place card come from Apple Maps and are Apple's and its providers', under Apple's terms. Restaurant names and trademarks belong to their owners. James Beard Foundation and James Beard Award are trademarks of the James Beard Foundation. Hawaiʻi Eats is not affiliated with any restaurant, team, chain, award body or government agency.
