What the app is

Bayou Eats is a free guide to restaurants in Louisiana. It is provided as is, for personal use, without charge and without warranties of any kind.

Check before you go

Restaurants open, close, change their hours and change their menus, and many po-boy shops and boudin counters keep short hours. Dishes and founding years are what each place or a named source said when we checked in fall 2026. We work to keep the lists right, but we can't promise that any listing is current or complete. Call the restaurant before you make the trip.

Inspections and public records

The app and this site link each place to the Louisiana Department of Health's inspection search; they show no inspection results and compute no grade. License numbers and types come from the City of New Orleans' Occupational Business Licenses and Alcohol Beverage Outlets and from East Baton Rouge Parish's business registrations and ABC licenses, as of the dates shown. For official records, use each agency's own site.

Other people's content

Ratings, reviews, hours and photos in each place card come from Apple Maps and are Apple's and its providers', under Apple's terms. Restaurant names and trademarks belong to their owners. MICHELIN and the MICHELIN Guide are trademarks of Michelin; James Beard Foundation and James Beard Award are trademarks of the James Beard Foundation. Bayou Eats is not affiliated with any restaurant, chain, award body or government agency.

Data sources and licenses

• City of New Orleans, Bureau of Revenue: Occupational Business Licenses (data.nola.gov) and Alcohol Beverage Outlets (CC0 1.0), modified for use here. Owner names are never used.
• City of Baton Rouge and Parish of East Baton Rouge: Businesses Registered with EBR Parish and ABC_License (data.brla.gov), public domain, modified for use here.
• Overture Maps Foundation places data, under the Community Data License Agreement, Permissive 2.0, including data from Meta, Microsoft, DAC, BrightQuery, AllThePlaces (CC0 1.0) and Foursquare (Apache 2.0).
• Overture Maps Foundation divisions, used for the state and county outlines on the map, under the Open Database License: © OpenStreetMap contributors, Overture Maps Foundation.
• Overture Maps Foundation addresses data, compiled from open address sources under permissive licenses (see docs.overturemaps.org/attribution), used to place records on the map.

Corrections

If a listing is wrong, or you own a restaurant and want something fixed, email nick@eatsranked.com. We fix mistakes in the next update.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the app or site, including a wasted drive to a closed restaurant.
